Test tubes neatly aligned
The essence of our being
Collected and reduced
To flows of fluorescent fluid
Within tubular walls
Too high for us to climb free
So we are left
To chance and the haunts
Of its Cheshire smile
As we are jostled and studied
Under microscopic curiosity
Intent on making us
Worthy sacrifices
To a hallowed deity
All hail Science
And her victories!
Her unsung failures
Covered in beds of daisies
Gathered in euthanized silence
As the endless pursuit continues
For the coveted elixir
The panacea to end
This constant suffering
